Speaker : David Warden
How should humanists think about sex and gender?
On the one hand, humanists are committed to science and the incontrovertible reality of biological sex. On the other hand, humanists want to be progressive and kind, and they want to promote the rights of people who identify as trans, queer, non-binary and so on.
David Warden has been engaged with this topic since 2009 and he is well placed to help us think through the complex issues involved.
David is chairman of Dorset Humanists and a member of the LGBT community.
He was the founding chairman of the Dorset County Council LGBT Workers Group and he designed and ran a training course in diversity with the Council’s diversity officer. He was also the LGBT representative on the Bournemouth and Poole Holocaust Memorial Committee and has spoken about the Nazi persecution of gay men.
Do come and join in the discussions.
