Human Rights, Free Speech, Scantily Clad Ladies

Sunday June 7th 7.15 for 7.30pm

Hop Blossom Pub, Long Garden Walk, Farnham, GU9 7HX

Dr David Savage will lead a discussion session where we will be invited to examine three subjects, human rights, free speech, and provocative action.

Why should we have human rights, who should decide what they are, what rights do you think we should have, should the European Declaration of Human Rights be changed?

We are all in favour of free speech, but how free should it be, what limitations should apply. Would you like the US approach to free speech? There will be several cases for you to consider.

People sometimes behave in provocative ways, such as dressing in an enticing way! This can cause others to act badly. Should the courts take provocative behaviour into account? To what extent should we control our behaviour to prevent provoking others? Surely, they need to be provoked sometimes. You will examine several case studies.

Non-members £3. Members free. Drinks are available at the pub
