How important is it to think for yourself?

Socrates was executed in 399 BCE because he questioned Athenian views about gods and morality.
Through examples including Socrates, Shelley, Bradlaugh and Rushdie, Emma Park will consider the importance of thinking for yourself, of learned uncertainty and liberating doubt, to the flourishing of the individual and wider society – and the place of the Freethinker in all this.
Free event. All are welcome!!

As well as being the Editor of the Freethinker ( established in 1881) Emma Park is also a freelance writer and former Classics teacher.
