Belinda was elected Chair in February 2021 and has been an atheist since the age of 15. She’s a lawyer by profession and a campaigner for people’s rights to the social services they’re supposed to be entitled to under the Care Act. She enjoys making and improving things, and has a special interest in budgerigars.

Treasurer: Linda Montgomery
Working for Alan’s IT companies was good preparation for Linda’s role as treasurer and minutes secretary for FH. Before that she was a languages teacher, and she has been a school governor for the past 20 years. She enjoys reading , gardening and walking.

Member: Alan Montgomery
Alan has been in FH for 15 years and is a past Chair of our group. He is a trained School Speaker on humanism. After research in Physics he worked for IT vendors before starting an AI company. Later he launched InferMed, jointly with Cancer Research UK. He spent 14 years promoting enterprise education in local schools. Alan relaxes with walking, gardening, piano, and crossword puzzles

Member: David Savage
David Savage helped Val and Alec Leggatt to develop Farnham Humanists. More recently he helped set up the Non-Religious Pastoral Support Network and is a volunteer at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. For some years he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the British Humanist Association and is currently a trustee of Creative Response, a local arts for well being charity for those with mental health, alcohol, or drugs related issues.

Member: Keith Hayward
Keith has a background in engineering, having served an apprenticeship at a steelworks in Sheffield. He came south to work at the Royal Aircraft Establishment. A keen horticulturalist, he now runs a plant nursery in Bisley. An atheist since schooldays, his other interests include singing with Hart Male Voice Choir, and computing with the Linux Operating System.

Member: Jennie Johnson
Jennie runs our website and welcomes any feedback or corrections jennie@farnham.humanist.org.uk.
She has represented humanism on the Surrey SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for RE) for 15 years and is an accredited School Speaker. She is also a member of Humanist UK’s Dialogue Steering Team. She enjoys mountain biking along Surrey’s beautiful bridleways.

Member: David Hepper
David is a biologist and computer buff. He has been a member of FH since 2015. He likes the outdoors, repairing things, local food and has an interest in several of the national campaigns of Humanists UK.

Member: Adam Mynott
Adam lives with his wife, Carol, near Alton. He helps on the committee with press and media related issues.
Now retired, Adam can identify very few skills derived from a 35+ year as a journalist, which has taken him to various far-flung places, including periods living with his family in Kenya and India. Born into a traditional, middle-class Christian family, Adam tried hard to embrace the Christian faith, but its irrational incoherence made that impossible.

Member: David Smith
David is a former Management Consultant and IT specialist. He is now a Trustee and repairer for the Farnham Repair Café and a Director of The Old Kiln in Farnham. His interests include Computing, HiFi, Home Cinema, Vinyl collecting, clubbing (Drum & Bass), cycling and Yoga and watching Premier League football. Specialist subject – Paraprosdokian sentences.
