Dragonfly walk

Can you spot the giant dragonfly? (Sculpture in right hand corner of photo.)

David Hepper, local resident and Records Officer for the British Dragonfly Society took us on a most fascinating informal walk around Thursley Common, a national nature reserve and dragonfly hotspot.

Despite heavy showers earlier in the morning we saw lots of different species of these flying jewels and learnt from David about their lives and their 300 million year history. David amazed us with his detailed knowledge of other fauna and flora in the location. We also had to be careful not to stand on the many lizards which took the opportunity to dry off in the sun on the board walks. A truly memorable morning. Thank you!
